Everything You Need to Know About the New Facebook Business Suite

Marketing your business on social media is never simple, but the ever-changing environment of Facebook advertising makes it even tougher.

Facebook has been rolling out Business Suite, but as the company moves away from Business Manager, we've seen that some of our clients' accounts are defaulting to Business Suite while others aren't.

So let's talk about the distinctions between Business Suite and Business Manager today.

Also, what has changed and what is to come. Let's get started!

What Is Facebook Business Suite and How Does It Work?

The Business Suite is where you'll manage all of your Facebook, Instagram, and Messenger accounts' organic and paid marketing activities.

The Facebook Business Suite brings together all of the capabilities from:

  •  pages,
  •  Creator Studio,

into one area, allowing you to manage everything in one spot.

Let's take a closer look at the details, shall we?

What Is The Job Duties Of A Business Manager?

Create and manage advertisements, upload your Facebook product catalog for shopping, add permissions for partners or agencies, and create and set up your Facebook Pixel via the Facebook Business Manager.

You didn't use Business Manager to make and schedule content, answer comments and messages, or change your pages or groups.

So, what's going on here?

The Business Manager isn't leaving anytime soon.

Facebook is integrating the greatest features of Business Manager and Business Suite into a single product.

This allows you to keep track of all elements of your company's social media presence in one spot.

What Does The Facebook Business Suite Allow You To Do?

You can perform whatever you could do in Business Manager in the Business Suite.

They're not removing any of the features we've become accustomed to.

Business Suite, on the other hand, is being used by Facebook to boost advertising, organic publishing, and interacting with your audiences.

  • Post on several platforms.
  • Organize your messages and comments.
  • Make advertisements
  • View data and insights for both organic and sponsored posts.
  • To help you build your business, bring in partners, staff, or freelancers.

If you've done any Facebook advertising, you might be thinking to yourself, "OK, this doesn't seem that different from what I can do."

You're largely correct.

Facebook Business Suite, on the other hand, will provide a lot of features that Business Manager lacks.

Before we go into the distinctions between the two properties, let's take a brief look at our recently established social media ad training course.

This is the training for you if you want to take your social advertising talents to the next level.

Your New Homebase Is The Business Suite

When you log back in, if you're like many of my clients, you may already be arriving on the Business Suite as your homepage...

If you're used to Business Manager, you might be a little surprised.

What happened to all of your buttons?

Let us teach you how to get to the backstage action (aka the old Business Manager).

This may appear when you log into your account. Congrats! The new Facebook Business Suite is what it sounds like.

Click Settings and Help to access all of the useful Business Manager features.

This page contains information about your business account, people, business assets, more settings, ad account settings, and billing information.

All of the additional Business Suite features are housed in the dark grey bar on the far right.

Assets such as your pixel, product catalog, financial information, ad account settings, and business information may all be added and managed.

Overview of the Business Suite's Navigation

Let's take a brief look at the Business Suite navigation so you know where to go for the information you need.

Our Top Reasons for Using Facebook Business Suite

We'd like to show you some of the features and enhancements that we're most excited about.

Some of these are now accessible, while others will be available next year.

We'll tell you which is which so you don't waste time looking for something that isn't yet accessible.

A Snippet of New Page Experiences

If you create a page now or in the future, you'll be able to take advantage of the New Page Experience.

However, many existing pages – perhaps even ones that you're currently maintaining – do not have access to the New Page Experience.

What can you look forward to on the new pages?

  • A simpler design that should make it easier to navigate.
  • Switch between your public page and your profile in a flash.
  • A distinct news stream for the pages you're interested in (all full control Admins can see this feed).
  • Better alerts and insights.
  • Page management tools have been updated.

Is there anything I'll lose if I transition from an old to a new page?

It's possible. Here's what's new on Facebook:

  • You'll lose everyone who loves your previous page but doesn't follow it if you convert to the New Page Experience.
  • Additionally, page positions such as Moderator and Editor will no longer be available to you. These options have been superseded by task access.
  • You'll need to use Business Suite or Creator Studio to schedule posts.
  • If you're interested in learning more about Facebook Creator Studio, check out our page on the subject.

Conclusion

We hope this clarified any ambiguity about the seemingly endless Facebook Business Suite/Business Manager changeover.

As you travel, you'll undoubtedly come across several glitches.

For example, when one of our account managers, David, became lost in a meaningless loop while attempting to set up an ad for a customer.

However, in most cases, such as this one, you can put it up to being part of the shift.

If you're ripping your hair out because of Facebook, take a break and come back to it later.
